Hi, I have reviewed this document as part of the Operational directorate's ongoing effort to review all IETF documents being processed by the IESG. These comments were written primarily for the benefit of the operational area directors. Document editors and WG chairs should treat these comments just like any other last call comments. This document defines some common interval values in order to improve the interoperability of BFD implementations supporting only a small set of fixed intervals. The document seems to solve a relevant operational problem. The inclusion of appendices A and B providing some rationale is much appreciated. Some editorial nits: - Sec 1: I suggest to start with The Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) standard [RFC5880] ... instead of just The standard [RFC5880] ... - The text sometimes uses Common intervals and sometimes common intervals and it remains unclear when 'common' is capitalized and when not. If you need to introduce a special term, I think it should be Common Intervals (and not just Common). But I am not sure this is needed, perhaps simply using lowercase is just fine. /js -- Juergen Schoenwaelder Jacobs University Bremen gGmbH Phone: +49 421 200 3587 Campus Ring 1, 28759 Bremen, Germany Fax: +49 421 200 3103 < http://www.jacobs-university.de/ >
