ThumbsPlus 4.10 Release Notes ============================= 2 March 2000 Known Issues: Because this version of ThumbsPlus uses ActiveMovie for viewing movies and animation, FLI and FLC files cannot be viewed. We do plan to fix this in a subsequent release. If you require FLI and FLC support, please continue to use version 4.02 instead. New functionality in 4.10: - Direct show (active movie) is now used for all movies and sounds. - Added movie thumbnail and viewing options (Options|File Loading|Movies & Sounds). - Preview window available (you can switch between Tasks and Preview) - Hairline (crosshair) cursor option. - Many new status bar options in View Window. - Wonderful new color picker used throughout ThumbsPlus. - Color replacement in single and batch mode (Image|Adjust). - Quick convert menu for converting multiple files (Image|Convert to). - Quick (and non-lossy for JPEG files) turns (90, 180, 270) and mirrors. - Additional table spacing, padding and color options in Web Wizard. - Page link index support (1 2 3 4 5) in the Web Wizard. - Many new templates for the Web Page Wizard (thanks to Daniel Shook and Shawn O'Sullivan!) - View window image resampling capability (for displaying images larger than the window). - Additional options for folder display and volume matching (Options|Preferences|Disks & Folders). - Improved memory management using private page files for large images. - Alt/Ctrl/Shift/E generates info for technical support (TPETECH.LOG). - Context sensitive help for dialog items. - Many improvements and corrections in the Help file. - Find similar provides numeric scale and entry. - Added Wallpaper|Full Screen to always stretch to fill screen. - Better support for VBS, BAT, and CMD files for external toolbar programs. - ThumbsPlus will now print all pages of multi-image TIFF, DCX and CEX files. - Improvements and fixes to batch processing, including setting file date/time. - Stretch histogram now available in batch processing. - OLE support for some programs that do not implement it properly, such as Adobe Illustrator. - Support for SUBST drives on NT, 98 and 2000. - Confirm Replace File dialog now remembers your last selections. - Support for IPTC information in SCC JPEG files. - Support for viewing EXIF information from digicam files. - Overall improvements in viewing file information (from Properties). - Support for newest Kodak & Nikon DCS professional digital cameras. Major issues fixed in 4.10: - Delete tree now works properly (doesn't leave empty folders). - Folders are now moved to the recycle bin properly if enabled. - "Phantom" annotations no longer appear in thumbnail view. - Image import filters no work properly. - Image stamp usability & functionality improvements. - Eliminated confusion between multiple Rotate/Resize steps in Batch Processing. - Some unusual JPEG files would not load (notably from some Konica cameras). - We fixed several paint, unnecessary repaint & zoom problems. - Rotations and turns no longer wipe out image DPI. - Strange and long printer names no longer cause problems with Print Catalog. - Favorite Places now work properly on Win95/98. - Database repair now works properly with ODBC v4 installed. - Database compact fixed on non-English versions of 95/98/NT. - Find By Query seeds with selected image when using find by image similarity. - Several Advanced query fixes. - Keywords can be entered directly (rather than selected from list) in Find by Query. - Thumbnails from unavailable network volumes now display properly. - JPEG original quality is now usable in batch mode. - The tree no longer collapses when removing thumbnails. - Folder colors are now shown and updated properly for network volumes. - More timely status line updates in main window. - Dozens of bug fixes, nit picks, and aesthetic improvements.
