You just have to click on the SETUP.EXE file. The default directory is "DRIVE:\Program Files\The Other Internet Package". You can change that directory and select something in your root directory. - The 16 bit version does not yet have a setup program. You have to copy the following files to a directory. build16.exe gif.dll jpeg.dll Creating a directory is done by going to the FILE menu item in File Manager and selecting CREATE DIRECTORY command. Type is the name of the directory you wish to create, such as, THEOTHER and you will see C:\theother directory. Copy the above files from the temporary location you placed them to this new directory. 2.0 Running the program ------------- In Windows 95, go to the START button and select from PROGRAMS The Other Internet Package. You can also create a shortcut by right-clicking anywhere on your screen and selecting NEW and then SHORTCUT. The Shortcut Wizard will direct you. Once you have the program icon on your screen you can double click on it every time you wish to start the Other Internet Package. In WIndows 3.xx, you can place the program icon in one of your existing groups. You select NEW from the FILE menu item and complete the steps in the dialog box that appears on your screen. When you run the program for the first time: - the file .ini will be created in the windows directory where PROGNAME is the name of the executable - FOLDERS, CACHE and TEMP directories will be created in the current directory. - an initial set of folders will be created (Inbox, Outbox, Recycle and Default News Server). Set your mail and news properties by selecting the SETTINGS command under the OPTIONS menu item. There is also a SETTINGS WIzard under the same menu item. If you are not sure about the information you need to provide, you can use this Wizard to assist you. 3.0 How To ---------- Open the Help File, select the How To section. Alternatively, read the various Help Screens as they provide detailed information about the functioning of the program.
