AND NOW.... the main event.... INSTALLATION ============ If you're reading this you already did the hardest bit, unzipping the file. Simply create a new prgram item somewhere in a windows group (or even give MugNet its' very own group) and set the command path to point to the file MUGNET.EXE... use File->Change Properties to give it an icon if it hasn't already picked it up and you are ready to go.... MUGNET ====== Operation of MugNet should be fairly straightforward... but just in case you're new to Mugging and Telnet i'll give you a brief rundown... When you start MugNet you'll see a window split into two parts by a bar along the bottom... the bottom pane is the input window, it's where you prepare you commands. When you hit this command is buffered for output and also written to the top window, which is the output window. To start a session, first make sure your winsock is online and then choose File->Open from the window menu. You will see a dialogue (Hey, I'm English, that's how I spell dialogue, o.k.) box. In the top box type the . separated address of the game you want to connect with and in the bottom box the port number. Either return or tab will move you from the top to the bottom. When you either hit return in the bottom box or press the OK button MugNet will start to search for a nameserver which will tell it where to go for your game. Assuming the game address is found, the status bar will show 'Connecting....' after a short while you should see text appearing in the top pane and should be prompted for a login.... wa-hay... KILL 'EM ALL. OPTIONS ======= There are a few terminal option you can choose from the menu item 'Terminal'. These are.. 'Emulation' - Choose normal (dumb) terminal or ANSI colour supporting type. 'Style' - Black or white background (regardless of ANSI setting, cool!!) 'Font' - System fixed, variable or any other font on your system.
