NOTE: A few of the GIF images are encoded on the newer, a slightly more efficient GIF 89a format. Should you encounter any problems decoding these images, look at the first six bytes of the file. If it reads `GIF89a' instead of `GIF87a', you should get a more up-to-date version of the image viewing program. See the directory /pub/pics/viewers for applications for your platform.
