Here are my ports of talk and talkd for linux TCPIP 0.8.0. Talkd didn't need anything changed other than Makefile, best I can recall. Talk needed more work: I converted some sgttyb stuff for ctrl-chars handshake between initiator and responder to termios. A few other minor stuffs too. getservbyname() works now too - YAYYY! To Do: some signals in talk (client) are not handled. It's a sigvec type structure, which I don't yet know how to convert. Doesn't seem to affect normal functions. Bugs (?): inetd says talkd exits with weird return codes after talk sessions end (on the syslog). If backspace doesn't work right, try Ctrl-H. On xterms, everything works fine. But on one of the VCs, I had to use Ctrl-H instead of backspace, which was mapped to Ctrl-?. This is a problem with the termcap/VC maybe, not with talk. Dave Black 09/03/92 dlbb0@diag.amdahl.com
