The only thing is that all the stations use low frequencies which only propagate long distances with a darkness or near darkness path. Thus you can't hear Colombia in the afternoon. You should be able to pick up the following stations starting around your local sunset (or a little before) until they go off for the night at midnight, Colombian time. Then you can hear them again once they come back on in the morning, around 4 or 5 a.m. Colombian time, until around your local sunset. Of course as we get closer to December and there is more darkness, it will be possible to hear Colombia earlier in the evening and later in the morning. STATIONS: CARACOL - Bogota on 5075 usually strong and clear La Voz del Llano - Villavicencio on 6117 Strong in the mornings but lots of interference in the evening. Sometimes on all night. La Voz del Cinaruco - Arauca on 4865 Usually good, but reception has been spotty lately. Not sure why. Sometimes on all night. Ecos del Combeima - Ibague 4785. Strong signal, but not sure how long this one will be one. They have a history of coming on for a month or two and then turning off the SW for two or three years before reappearing. They've been doing this for the 20 years I've been in SW. They have been on for the past few weeks. (Their morning program has the best Colombian music of any station in my opionion.) La Voz de los Centauros/CARACOL Villavicencio 5955 (varies 5953- 5957). Sometimes local programs, sometimes the same as Bogota. Heard in the mornings only. Armonias del Caqueta 4915 Florencia sometimes good in the mornings Radio Santa Fe 4965 Bogota - has recently reactivated shortwave after a long absence. Good signals evening & mornings. Ondas del Orteguaza 4975 Florencia. Fair signal in mornings, but interference from Venezuelans on 4970 & 4980. Radio Macarena 5975 Villavicencio. Sometimes in the morning. Weaker & less heard stations include Ecos del Atrato, Quibdo, 5020 La Voz del Guaviare, San Jose de Guaviare, 6035 La Voz del Yopal, 5050 CARACOL Bucaramanga 4845 Radio Nueva Vida 5657 (Evangelical) I'm probably forgeting a few, maybe even an easy one or two, but this is what I can think of off the top of my head. I hope this helps. I specialize in Latin American listening. I've visited most of Latin America, but haven't gotten to Colombia yet. I wanted to go in 1985 but tried to get a visa at the time the Colombian govt was trying to dissuade Americans from visiting because of threats from the drug lords.
