The Dacron burned throught the Spectra and now I have two pieces of line where I want one. My question, I saw a posting about splicing but wouldn't you know it I erased my copy just before going out and cutting the line (actually, my son burned through my wifes line). I tried to splice the line (135# test) and counld't get a sewing needle (modified to form a hook by cutting out some of the eye) to go into the core. I ended up tying the fisherman's knot. My question, could someone help me and either address this specific issue or send me a copy of the recient positin on splicing? Where do you get the special tool referenced in the posting on splicing? Is there a better knot than a fisherman's knot? I know at least one knot that just slips out! Anyway, the needle I used was not too larte so it is hard for me to believe that I could ever splice this line. The needle diameter was slightly less than the wire used to make ordinary paper clips. Thanks in advance, Allen
