This document applies to ViewProf 1.0.

INTRODUCTION
============

ViewProf is a profile viewing and ideal flow multiblock 2-D
Oellers method solver for computers running Windows 3.1 or newer version.
Program has, among others, the following features:

 	-Possibility to view the streamlines and pressure distribution
	around the model geometry. Zooming and panning are included, too.

 	-Practically unlimited number of profiles can be combined and
	calculated in the same model.
	You can, for example, create a model with the wing, slat and
	flap in the wake of canard.

 	-Over 90 readily available, hard-coded stock profiles.
	Profiles include, among others, many popular Eppler profiles.

 	-Any NACA 4-series profile and most of NACA 5-series profiles
	can be selected as a profile.
	You simply type in the profile code number.

 	-A profile can be read from a text file.
	You can include any published profile into your model.

 	-The model, its pressure distribution and stream lines can be
	printed with a printer or a plotter in actual proportions.
	You can use any printer installed into your Windows system.

 	-You can copy the view into other applications both as a
	metafile drawing or as a bitmap.
	It is possible to include the picture into your Windows documents.

 	-The model and the results of vorticity distribution can be viewed
	and copied as text. You can use the text as an input for other
	applications.

And, last but not least,

 	-ViewProf 1.0 is a public domain software.
	You are free to use, copy and redistribute this program package
	for free as far as its contents is kept unchanged.

REQUIREMENTS
============

The minimum configuration that ViewProf can use includes

 	-IBM PC, AT, PS/2 or similar. The faster, the better.
 	-MS-Windows v3.1 or newer
 	-Some free memory, preferably around 1Mb, even though
	program does run in smaller memories too. More memory
	makes bigger models possible.
 	-About 500Kb of free disk space. Program can be used
	from the floppy disk too, even though that would be
	tedious.

Additionally, math co-processor is not required, but strongly
recommended.

INSTALLATION
============

What follows, a simple installation procedure is introduced.
You need a ZIP dearchiver, UNZIP.EXE for example. Those programs
are widely available in BBS:s, Internet archives etc.

 	-Create a new directory into your hard disk.
 	-Copy VIEWPROF.ZIP into this directory.
 	-Dearchive VIEWPROF.ZIP.

You should now have VIEWPROF.EXE, VIEWPROF.HLP, DLL1.DLL,
SLATFLAP.MDL, FX60-100.PRF and README.TXT in the directory.
You can now add ViewProf icon into a suitable program group in
Program Manager or some other Windows shell program.
It is also possible to use Run -command in PM every time you
start ViewProf.
