When installing onto a NTFS partition using a long name(file or directory), WebQuest does not properly register with the Service Manager. Workaround: 1) Open File Manager 2) Change directories to the directory you installed WebQuest into. You should find a file named WebQuest.exe. 3) Click 'File' then 'Run' 4) Type the following: WebQuest -install Administrator replacing with the actual password, and with 'A'(Automatic) or 'M'(Manual). ***WebQuest is unable to find ODBC datasources after booting up to logon screen. If you have chosen Automatic as the startup mode and WebQuest is logging on as Administrator, WebQuest will not be able to find ODBC Datasources. Workaround: There are two ways to handle this: 1) Choose Manual as the startup type and start WebQuest Manually. 2) Use the new ODBC Control Panel Applet(2.5) to create System datasources and have WebQuest logon as LocalSystem. This will allow you to keep using the Automatic Startup Mode. ODBC Installation Suggestions The ODBC setup program that you have downloaded is the file provided to us by Microsoft. We have encountered problems installing ODBC using this setup program. If the setup program encounters any of the ODBC components in use (usually .DLL) then you will be given an error message and the setup will fail. Work arounds, we've included two ODBC.INF files, one with all of the .DLL files and one without all the .DLL files (ODBC2.INF). First make sure all software programs are closed, including Microsoft Office, before installing ODBC or WebQuest. If you get an error message while installing WebQuest that it can't find a specific .DLL file rename the current ODBC.INF file to ODBC1.INF and rename ODBC2.INF to ODBC.INF. Try installing WebQuest again. After WebQuest has been installed, go back and switch ODBC.INF to ODBC2.INF and ODBC1.INF to ODBC.INF.
