This will install the files into the proper directories, and create start menu icons for you. How to use BreeseFTP Connect to New Server To connect to a server, after opening the program, select "File > New". A login dialog box will then appear. You need to enter (at a bare minimum) the hostname (i.e. ftp.cdrom.com). You have the options to enter a username / password, a default remote directory, a default local directory, and a Profile name. You can save as many profiles as you wish, and can organize them like you would any other document file. If you do not select "Connect on Open", you will need to click the "Connect" toolbar button, or select "File > Connect to Server", to actually connect and logon to the FTP server. Otherwise, you will be connected right away. To enable or disable all auto-connections, you must check "File > Enable Autologin". Connect to a Saved Profile To connect to a saved file, just open the profile like you would every other document, select "File > Open". If you selected "Connect on Open" you will be logged on to the server right away, otherwise you will need to follow the same procedure listed above. Edit a Profile You can edit a profile while it is open ("File > Open") by clicking the "Edit" toolbar button or selected "File > Edit Profile". You will need to save your changes before you close the file, or your changes will be lost. If you need to edit a saved profile that will automatically logon to the server, uncheck "File > Enable Autologin" Change Directories You can change directories by either "double clicking" the directory name in the tree view or the list view. You can also click the "Change Directory" toolbar button, or select "Session > Change Directory". If you do not have a directory selected, you will be prompted for one. If you want to change to the root directory, click the "/" toolbar button, select the appropriate menu item, or context menu. If you want to change to the parent directory, click the ".." toolbar button, select the appropriate menu item, or context menu. If you want to change to the home directory, click the "Home" toolbar button, select the appropriate menu item, or context menu. Download a File / Multiple Files / Directories To download a file, highlight it, and click the "Download" toolbar button, select "Session > Download" or use the context (right click) menu. To download multiple files, select multiple files. To download directories, highlight the directory. You can download in any combination of the above. After you start the download, you will be prompted for the directory in which to save the files / directories. You will see a progress indicator that lists not only the progress on the current file, but also the progress on the total transmission. Upload a File / Multiple Files / Directories To upload a file, click the "Upload" toolbar button, select "Session > Upload Files", or use the context (right click) menu. Select the file(s) you want to upload. To select multiple files, hold down the CTRL key while clicking the files you want. They will be uploaded to the current directory of the server. To upload a file, select "Session > Upload Directory". The contents of this directory, along will all sub-directories will be included in the transfer. You can also drag files into the window from explorer and upload to the current directory. You will see the same progress indicators you will see with downloads. View Files To view the contents of a text file, right click the file and use the context menu to select "View". The file will download and be displayed in the text viewer of your choice. Delete Files To delete a file, select the file and click the "Delete" toolbar button, select "Session > Delete", or use the appropriate context menu item. Rename Files The easiest way to rename a file is to highlight the file and click it, or hit F2. This is the same mechanism Windows Explorer uses to rename files. Alternatively, you can also select "Session > Rename File" to enter the full pathname of the original file, and the new name. You can rename directories using a similar mechanism. Create and Manipulate Directories You can create a directory using the "Session > Make Directory" command, the "New Directory" toolbar button, or the context menu (right click) and select "Make Directory" menu item. Renaming Directories is done in the same way as renaming a file. Removing a directory follows the same logic as creating a directory, only you use the "Remove Directory" commands. The directory must be empty before you can remove it. Disconnect from a Server To disconnect from a server, you can either click the "Disconnect" toolbar button or select "File > Close Connection". If you exit the program, you will also be disconnected.
