The beta expiration date has been removed. RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 1.0b1 ------------------------------- Extended the beta expiration date to February 1, 1997. Added an option on the connection page to cause jobs to run using "Only Exisiting" connections. This can be used to setup a job that check for waiting email every 5 minutes, but only when connected. Added FTP Drop-Box. This new feature hooks into your browser (Netscape is currently the only supported), and when you click on an FTP file link, it will ask for a download location and saves the information in Auto-Bot's FTP Drop-Box. Then, when a job with the associated action ("Download FTP Drop-Box") is run, it will download the FTP files. RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 0.9r ------------------------------ Extended the beta expiration date to January 1, 1997. The 'A' tray icon will display a large red 'X' when it is disabled. Added support for proxy servers to the FTP Group actions. *** NOTE *** You must edit each FTP Group action and uncheck the "Use Proxy" flag the first time you run Auto-Bot after installing 0.9r. Added an option in the FTP Upload, FTP Download and FTP Synchronize Directory actions to remove any partially transmitted files. Added an option to ignore ALL errors (even the important ones). Use this option sparringly. Enhanced the scheduling to handle running every 'X' minutes, even greater than 59 minute cycles. Fixed a scheduler problem using Weekly Scheduling. RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 0.9p ------------------------------ Enhanced the FTP Upload/Download/SyncDirectory actions to display their status and multi-task better. Added $F and $P Tag Replacements. The $F is the last filename processed (no path) and the $P is the last path processed (no filename). These tags are only setup currently to be used by the FTP Synchronize Directory. Added an option to run a job after each file uploaded or downloaded by the FTP Synchronize Directory action. Added an option in the Send/Receive Email action to process even if the program is already loaded. Be warned that this might cause problems if you are in the middle of using your email program, such as reading or writing mail. RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 0.9o ------------------------------ Added a feature to our Time/Date tags. Between the '$' and the letter, you can place a '+' or a '-' and a number. This number, or "offset", will add-to, or subtract-from the value you are displaying. Added FTP Synchronize Directory action. Added action Log File Entry which adds a line/entry in the log file specified in the program Properties dialog. Added action Popup Message which will pop-up a message box and wait for a keypress. RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 0.9n ------------------------------ Just a reminder, the command lines which are user specified (such as for actions: Run External Program, and Send/Receive Email) MUST use double-quotes around any individual parameters or paths which use Long Filenames. This is done automatically anywhere you specify just a filename. Fixed bug which caused a fault when adding/editing a Compuserve Check-for-Mail Action. Completed support for FTP Actions. Fixed a bug in the Decompress File action. Updated the installation program to new release. Extended the beta expiration date to December 1, 1996. RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 0.9m ------------------------------ Fixed an occasional scheduling problem. Added an action for Tetranet Software's Linkbot v2.0. RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 0.9k ------------------------------ Fixed a bug which caused a crash when attempting to display certain dialog boxes (such as Check Email action). This bug was introduced by a compiler version upgrade and slipped by our testing. RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 0.9j ------------------------------ The beta expiration date has been extended to November 1, 1996. Added the function to "Copy Job". This allows you to create a new job, starting with a copy of an existing job. We have modified the waiting mail notification process to only notify you when you have a message count which is greater than zero AND different from the last check. We have fixed a problem with the window being displayed off of the screen. RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 0.9i ------------------------------ The beta expiration check has been changed to 10/1/96. Keep in mind that the final release will NOT have this beta expiration check! RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 0.9h ------------------------------ Due to a potential trademark infringment, we have decided to change the name of our application to Auto-Bot. Added is support to checking compuserve mail and down- loading that mail using WinCIM. The checking is done by telnetting to CServe. This support is in early beta and currently seems to work fine, but might occasionally fail. Please let us know if you experience any problems. We have also verified that this version works with the new Eudora Pro v3.0 beta release 11. We can't guarantee that it will continue to work with future releases, but it more than likely will. The support for Pegasus Mail has only been checked with the Single-User mode. The included FTP actions now work properly. These actions include renaming files, deleting files, making directories and removing directories. The next release will include retrieving and storing files. There is a new "MAIL" tray icon which only displays when you have a Send/Recv action setup with waiting mail. Double-clicking on this tray icon will bring up the first email program which has waiting mail. You can then continue double-clicking on this icon in turn to bring up each email program which has waiting mail. Right clicking on hew new "MAIL" tray icon which also bring up a menu which has each email program (checkmarks represent ones with waiting mail) and a list of all POPs with associated Check for mail actions. For those of you who have an ISP which "disallows" automated, scheduled dialups, we have added the "Randomizer". This allows you to specify a range of seconds (plus or minus) which will be added/subtracted to the scheduled run-time of any jobs which you specify. For example, a 10 minute (600 second) randomizer value will cause Auto-Bot to generate a random number as it schedules each "randomized" job between -300 and 300. This random seconds will be added to the normally scheduled time of these jobs. We have now added a "Default Connection" method which allows you to change all of the jobs which are using the "Default Connection" at once. But, you still have the ability of defining each jobs connection method separately. The right-click menu contains a "hot-list" of jobs which can be manually run directly from this menu. A checkbox in the Job Properties determines whether or not a job is on this list. The Telnet Group has been fixed and should now work properly. There is now a scheduling option to run "every xx minutes". This will not immediately run upon startup, but will wait "xx mintutes" before its first run. We've added scheduling "filters" to specify a start-time and a stop-time within which the other scheduling option will be valid. Also, check-marks for days-of-the-week which the job is allowed to run. These two "filters" give you maximum flexibility in your scheduling, while still attempting to keep it somewhat simple. Be on the looking in a future release for a scheduling wizard. Also, check out the right-click menu in the System Tray which will now give you a menu item to run each of your email programs. It also will place a checkmark next to the ones with new mail. Keep in mind, this flag will only be cleared when you run your email program from this menu, as Auto-Bot has no other way to assertain whether or not you have run your email program from some other way. Please see the help file for additional beta notes. TIME/DATE TAGS -------------- The following fields in the specified actions have Tags which can be embedded into the field. This means that all tag replacements within a job will be the same date and time. EXISTING KNOWN BUGS/LIMITATIONS ------------------------------- There is no support for changing the order of actions in jobs. Direct Internet Connections with no DUN support installed can cause a Win95 "Phonebook" error. There will be more toolbar icons. Some problems exist with the Pegasus email actions. Some problems exist with the Compuserve email actions.
