INTERCAP INLINE PLUG-IN for Netscape ==================================== BY INTERCAP GRAPHICS SYSTEMS InterCAP's well-known MetaLink Runtime CGM viewer has now been customized for Netscape, Windows 95, and NT. InterCAP InLine is a Netscape API-compliant graphics viewing tool that operates as a plug-in to Netscape Navigator®2.0. InterCAP InLine supports inline viewing, zooming, dynamic panning and magnification and animation of Computer Graphics Metafile (CGM) vector graphics within the Navigator 2.0 Web browser. The demonstration here at The Blackened Grill Company shows how powerful the use of CGM and "intelligent graphics" can be as an alternative to GIF and JPEG graphics formats since both of those are raster or bitmap type image files. CGM offers the Internet community the first option for a vector-based (i.e., line-art) image type. Vector images allow for greater detail and clarity at multiple zoom levels and are usually much more compact than the equivalent bitmap. To use the robust viewing capabilities of InterCAP InLine, move your cursor to the graphic window and depress the right mouse button. This will display a pop-up menu with the viewing options (Fit, Zoom Box, Zoom In, Zoom Out, Magnify, and Redisplay). To make your selection, depress the left mouse button when the scroll bar is over the option you wish to use. The magnifier enables you to inspect the graphic window using a simulated magnifying glass. Move the locator box around, in the graphic window, while viewing the magnified content of the locator box in the larger window. In addtion to the viewing capabilities, you can "mark-up" the graphics by using the "Redline" selection from the pop-up menu. You can add graphic entities to an "overlay" to the original graphic and save these markups for future viewing.
