Telecom Chat is a way for users to chat interactively via the Telecom Archives Web Page, and to post short questions/answers for which there there is little or no time/space for coverage in the Digest itself. You are welcome to post here anytime and read replies; however the established time for group chat is 9-11 PM Eastern time daily, when you are likely to find other users on line for interactive chat. Some IMPORTANT usage notes:

This is an ANONYMOUS chat in the sense that no verification of names is done at user level. There is no username authentication of the handle given. Judge the messages accordingly.

Because Telecom Chat allows display of pictures from around the world, it is always possible that a picture is unavailable when your browser tries to get it. If your browser seems to hang, that is probably why. You can proceed by pressing the STOP button - in most cases you'll get all the text, just not all the pictures. Also, if someone sent a huge picture that you don't want to wait for, STOP will help you there as well. Please be respectful of others - try not to send huge inline .gifs. Thanks!

To get more messages, press the CHAT button; not your browser's Reload button.

To put a .gif or hyperlink in your message, type the address of the destination, but don't use HTML markup language. Example:

Right: http://my.site.com/Welcome.html
Wrong: ..A HREF=http://my.site.com/Welcome.html>...
