I.New Features V.2.51b ______________________ INTERNET PROTECTION: Carmel Anti-Virus Enterprise Edition provides you now with new an enhanced ability to protect your hard drives against Vandal applications damage and viruses and even against un authorized access to your data. This is achieved by a new and advanced mechanism that allows you control all permissions to your hard disc. You can now choose between multi-level protection and define exactly what applications are allowed to access to specifyed directories. In order to configure disk protection follow these easy steps: 1. From Configure window choose RealTime. 2. The On-Off switch activates now both real time protection and disk protection. 3. Choose Protection page. 4. Select protection mode: 4.1 Scanner - RealTime will search your disk for viruses. 4.2 Disc protector - Access control to your disk. 4.3 Both. 5. Press Configure Disk Protection button. 6. You can choose to protect entire disk or any directory you want. For each selection you can assign the following protection modes: 6.1 Read Only(Green) - The applications can only read the data but not to change or delete. 6.2 Full Protect(Red)- The applications cannot access the data. 7. For each directory you choose you can assign certain applications that will gain access to this area with full access. To choose these applications you can either bowse or Drag and Drop the application Icon. 8. You can protect all logical drives by checking "Protect EXE COM DLL SYS. 9. To allow access of Dos application check the box Access to dos programs. Otherwise they are blocked for access by default. II.Setup instructions. ______________________ This Setup is intended only for MicroSoft Networks. Running Setup.exe will install Carmel Anti-Virus Enterprise Edition on your NT Server Note: if you want to install network setup option you must run setup.exe on NT Server machine This will install our Carmel Anti-Virus on the Server and optionally Carmel Anti-Virus Control Program and the Network Setup. You can install Carmel Anti-Virus Control Program on either Win95 or WinNT machines. The Control Program gives you complete control on every Carmel Anti-Virus Program installed on any workstation in your Network. This includes remote Scannig, Configuration,Real Time,Log etc. You can also use this Setup.exe to install a stand alone Anti-Virus on Nt Machine or Win95 machine. Control Progarm: ________________ To install The Control Progarm on an Win95/NT machine simply choose the "Control Program" Option in the Setup. At this time the Control Program requires either NetBeui or SPX network protocols to be availble so that it can work properly. The Control Program "Controls" the remote Anti-Virus via Carmel's Anti-Virus Agent, This Agent must run on the remote machine so that communication can be possible. (that is the default) The Agent also requires either NetBeui or SPX network protocols to be availble so that it can work properly. Remarks: If the control program runs on a Win95 machine using SPX it will not work properly. Note: At the near future Carmel's Control Progarm will work also over TCP/IP based Networks. Network Setup: ______________ Please follow the next guide lines in order to install Carmel Anti-Virus on your entire network. Do the folowing after you have installed Carmel Anti-Virus Enterprise Edition on your server with the Network setup option enabled. 1. Enter the user manager for domains in your NT server. Select all the users that you want Carmel Anti-Virus to be installed on there machines. Choose properties from the main menu (under the "User" option). Click the "Profile" button. Enter "NetDist.bat" in the login script edit box. Click OK. 2. For the network setup to be complete every user must login to the domain,so that the login script can execute our network setup. Note: On NT Workstations the logged on user must have admin rights for the setup to succeed. Its recommended to remove the "NetDist.bat" entry from the login script after completing the network setup.
