RPM Remote Print Manager, version 1.22, Demo RPM Copyright 1995-1996 Brooks Internet Software, Inc. "ALL RIGHTS RESERVED" 1. Introduction. Thank you for taking a look at RPM, our LPD server for Microsoft Windows. This software allows you to send print requests from computers on your TCP/IP network to your PC running Windows and Windows Sockets (aka "WinSock"). RPM has been tested with mainframe applications such as CICS, with Unix workstations and with PCs. On Berkeley compatible Unix systems, RPM supports the lpr, pr or print, lpq and lpstart commands. On a System V compatible systems, configure the remote queue as Berkeley or BSD compatible and use your systems printing commands. RPM has context sensitive help for every window, dialog, menu item and toolbar button. The help file also contains an operations guide, and topics that explain RPMs features. 2. About the Demo. This demo has all the features of the commercial RPM product, with the added restriction is that it handles a maximum of 100 requests. Specifically, each time you start RPM, and each time RPM receives a request over the network (including print requests, queue status requests and network probes), the "use counter" increments. The RPM demo displays a dialog for several seconds, showing you how many requests remain, except for the first and last times. You do not need to do anything until the use count passes 100. After that, you will be prompted for a password. Please contact us if you desire to use RPM beyond that point. 3. END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT The accompanying text file "enduser.wri" contains the terms for using RPM. 4. How to contact us. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to discussing your network printing needs. Our office hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, Mountain Time. BROOKS Internet Software, Inc. 410 N.
