CDmenu v3.0

CD menu system for installing and running applications and associated files

This program is distributed as shareware (see 'Remove Trial' below)

<< Description >>

CDmenu allows the user to construct a CD which will install or run
a variety of applications, and associated files, from a menu list,
by selecting the item and clicking a button.

Supported file types include exe, bat, zip, doc, xls, mpg, html...
and many more. Parent default application must be installed.

<< Create a CD menu >>

The format of the CD you create is very simple.
All the files for CDmenu are placed on the root directory (folder) of the CD,
and each of the programs that you are going install or run has its own folder.

Therefore what you see on the disc is this...

	cdmenu.exe
	cdmenu.ini
	autorun.inf
	msvbvm60.dll
menupic.jpg - Optional (see Extras below)
splash.jpg - Optional (see Extras below)
cdmenu.wav - Optional (see Extras below
	readme.txt - Optional (Please include)

Then, a number of folders containing their own 'setup' or 'install' files eg...

	ZoneAlarm	(Folder)
	Psp8 (Folder)

	Sub-folders also supported...

	Zips\MyZipfile (Folder\Sub-Folder)
	MPGs\Birthday	(Folder\Sub-Folder)

<< How it works >>

The CDmenu system works by reading the file 'CDmenu.ini'.
This is a text file which stores all the information about the files on your CD.
This should be edited to customise CDmenu to your needs.

NOTE - This file has a fixed format.
Titles and blank lines should be left as they are (see cdmenuDEMO.ini file),
with no extra lines added in between.

<< CDmenu.ini file >>

	(( First section ))
	[Number of Items]
Enter here the total number of menu items running from your menu
Max 1000 menu items - Limited to 20 items in the Trial Version.
	(See 'Remove Trial' below)

	(( Second section ))
	[CD Menu Colour]
	Enter a number between 0 and 15.
Experiment to see which colour suits your 'Menupic' image.

	(( Third section ))
	[CD Menu Title]
Enter here the title which will be displayed at the top of the Menu screen.
	(see above for colour).

	(( Fourth section ))
	[CD Menu Labels]
This is the text which is displayed above each text box on the menu screem.
Note - There MUST be 5 lines entered.

If you do not want a certain text box displayed, enter X as the text.
This text box will then be invisible. Does not work with main menu box.

	(( Fifth section ))
	[Opening Text]
This is the text which will be displayed in the bottom text box when
CDmenu is first run. Enter the text you want displayed.

(( Next sections )) - repeated x times dependant on number in 'First section'.

	[ITEM#1]
	a) Item name to be displayed on menu. (Paint Shop Pro v8.0)
	b) Folder name for the item location. (ie Psp or Graphics\Psp)
	c) Actual filename to be run. (ie psp.exe)
	d) Text for text box 1. (Item's description text)
	e) Text for text box 2. (Any further text)

<< Troubleshooting >>

Note - There MUST be ONE blank line between each cdmenu.ini section,
and there MUST be the EXACT number of lines entered for each section.

If your menu doesn't display properly, it will be because either...

	a) More than one, or no blank spaces between section or,

	b) You have not entered all the text required for each menu item.
(if you don't want to enter an item's description text,
either enter N/A or leave an extra blank line)

See enclosed CDmenuDEMO.ini file for example layout.

<< Extras >>

	(( Menupics ))
CDview comes with its own default background image,
but if you want to add your own...

Just include a .jpg image (width 400, Height 375 pixels) and name it
'menupic.jpg'. This file must be placed in the same folder as the
	cdview.exe application file.

	(( Splash Screen ))
You can customise CDmenu to show a boot up splash screen by including
	your own image...

Just include a .jpg image (width 200, Height 100 pixels) and name it
'splash.jpg'. This file must be placed in the same folder as the
	cdmenu.exe application file.

If there is not a splash.jpg file in the CDmenu folder, CDmenu will boot
	normally, without a splash screen.

	(( CDmenu Wav sound ))
You can also customise CDmenu to play a boot up Wav file by including
	your own .wav audio file...

Just include a .wav file (it's best if it's not too long) and name it
'cdmenu.wav'. This file must be placed in the same folder as the
cdmenu.exe application file. It will be played automatically.

If there is not a cdmenu.wav file in the CDmenu folder, CDmenu will boot
	normally, without a boot sound.

Note - This feature is not available in the Trial Version...
	(See 'Remove Trial' below)

<< Remove Trial >>

If you find this application useful...

You can remove the 'Trial' display from the CDmenu screen and enable other features
by making a very small donation.

	Visit the CDmenu webpage... http://www.sheilsoft.com/software/cdmenu.htm

Click the Paypal Donate button, and send a donation - minimum 1 pound (approx just $1.50)!!!

We will then send you a licence patch file, which you include in the CDmenu folder...

With that in place, the 'Trial' display will be removed, You'll be able to use a boot Wav
sound file, and the maximum number of menu items will be increased to 1000!
